Red Sparrow

Jubilee Arts Festival | Las Angeles, California | 2018

A personal journey the individual embarks upon in search of finding her divine creator through various travels, experiences, and landmarks. An initial journey of uncertainty, longing, and frustration of the heart and soul evolve as challenges arise, testing the limitation of patience and perseverance.

As the experiences of the creator's creation interact with the traveler, the certainty of strength and humility manifest more visibly, calming the soul. The search continues, the journey prolongs, the wanderer wanders, and the red sparrow flies further and further, closer to the path of union.

CANIS LUPUS & CANIS LATRANS & VULPES VULPES

"Endangered" Show at Studio Door | 2016 (Online Exhibition)

The process of self translates in the character of a spirit and in this case it transforms through these beautiful endangered mammals. Creatures of nature are disappearing like a dream of flames into a mist of nothingness. Their lively energy sparks with color so radiant that it hurts to part with them.

The burst of warmth beneath them touches to the soul of the creator and the creator of the world. While in the act of creating their figure and energy, it only felt right to let the twig be it's tool and the ink take control. The process of letting the medium take over is the emotion released for the subjects depicted. The marks are made spontaneously with an unconscious mind set.

Active Ravens

"Animal Spirit" Show Location 1980 | 2015
Costa Mesa, California

The idea of letting things happen unconsciously and then molding what the mind sees, turns into a narrative that reveals itself in the end. My concentration currently is of raven birds with the intent to evoke a dynamic atmosphere and a narrative. The color palette takes on a process that has its own spontaneous character, as is the medium of Ink.

The “Active Ravens” invite the viewer to experience ravens in the moment as they move in motion and spontaneity through a range of interactions within the family. The movement created through ink mark making with twigs as a tool rather than a brush allows the narrative to feel the raw, native characteristics of the nature of the birds.
